Hi! I'm Jill, and I'm the food blogger behind The Freckled Cook. (That is my husband and I'm upside down).
I'm a passionate home cook, photographer, and recipe developer, who loves sharing my creations with the world. I started my blog as a way to connect with other foodies and to connect with others. I also wanted to create a resource where people could find delicious but easy-to-follow recipes.
I grew up in a household where food was always at the center of attention. My parents loved to cook and entertain family. The best days were where I spent countless hours in the kitchen with them, helping to prepare meals and learning.
As I got older, I continued my love of cooking and baking. I experimented with different recipes and techniques, developing my own style.
I love to cook and bake for my family and friends. I always get so much joy when I see people enjoying my food.
My blog is a reflection of my love of food, cooking, and entertaining. I share a variety of recipes on my blog, from simple weeknight meals to elaborate desserts. I will also be writing about food trends, kitchen tips, and my personal experiences with food.
The heart of the home always seems to be the kitchen. I have been cooking and baking for 20+ years and want The Freckled Cook to be a place to find normal recipes for every kitchen.
I'm married to James and found he has a similar passion for cooking. My mother-in-law is a great cook with strong southern influences. James is not a bad cook himself and will help with behind-the-scenes tasks, as well as writing a blog post or recipe from time to time.
I hope you'll enjoy my blog and find some delicious recipes to try. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them below.
My sincere belief is that anyone can cook with the right recipe.
I live in North Carolina with my husband James, our two sons, James Jr. and Conor. We also have two dogs, Jester and Kaos (Chaos), plus a lot of tropical fish.
