Is the stuffing supposed to be crunchy on top
Jill Lockridge
Yes, crunchy topping is correct. However, you can make the stuffing according to the box and add it to the top, if you prefer it to be fluffier.

Before layering the stuffing we put Swiss cheese or provolone cheese on the chicken

How long to cook chicken to shred before assembling
Jill Lockridge
Hi, Leroy! You can cook chicken to shred in many different ways. Place boneless chicken breasts in a pot on the stovetop, cover with chicken broth, cover with a lid, boil 15-20, or until it is no longer pink. Poke it with a fork and juices will run clear or use a thermostat and the internal temperature should be 165 degrees F.
You can place it into an Instapot or pressure cooker. You could even cook the chicken in a crockpot, until it is cooked through, usually 2-4 hours on high. As a time saver, you could buy precooked chicken at the grocery store or a rotisserie chicken.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Can you just mix it all together
Jill Lockridge
Hi, Kim! I have not tried mixing it all together, but I'm thinking it would lose the gravy and crunchy stuffing texture on top. If you try it that way, please let me know how it turns out!
