FAQs

Can I make this dessert ahead of time?

Absolutely! Mocha Lush Dessert can be made a day in advance. Just make sure to store it properly in the refrigerator.

Can I freeze No-Bake Mocha Lush Dessert?

Freezing is not recommended as the texture of the cream cheese layer and pudding may become grainy once thawed.

Can I use homemade whipped cream instead of store-bought whipped topping?

Yes, you can use homemade whipped cream. Whip 2 cups of heavy cream with ¼ cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Use this in place of the store-bought whipped topping.

Top Tips

  • Can I use regular instant coffee instead of espresso powder? Yes, you can substitute regular instant coffee for espresso powder in the mocha pudding layer. However, keep in mind that the flavor may be slightly less intense. To enhance the coffee flavor, you can increase the amount of instant coffee used or dissolve it in a small amount of hot water before adding it to the pudding mixture.
  • To crush the Oreos, use a food processor or crush by hand. Place them in a sealed Ziploc bag and crush with the bottom of a glass, beat with a mallet or use a rolling pin, until crushed well.
  • Keep the cake refrigerated.
  • If by some miracle you have leftovers, fear not! Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or transfer individual servings to airtight containers. Pop it into the refrigerator, and it will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
