The tart apples are perfectly complemented by the sweet and crunchy topping, and the whole dessert is baked to golden perfection.

– medium apples  – ground cinnamon – brown sugar – all-purpose flour – vanilla extract – salt – old-fashioned oats – all-purpose flour – brown sugar – cinnamon – butter, cold

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare your 9x13" pan with nonstick spray. Slice apples as evenly as you can, so you don't have some slices cooked more or less than others. Place apples in a large bowl and mix in cinnamon, brown sugar, and flour until evenly coated.

Mix old-fashioned oats, flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, baking powder. Add the stick of butter, right out of the refrigerator, so it is cold. Use a pastry cutter or your hands and mix, until crumbly.

Spread apples into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle crumble topping over the apples.

Bake in 375 degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until juices are bubbling and topping is golden brown. Allow to cook at least 5 minutes, then serve with ice cream, caramel sauce, or just plain. Cover and store in refrigerator up to 5 days.
