Crockpot Mulled Wine

The perfect cold-weather cocktail is Mulled Wine. The warm spiced wine is sure to be a delicious addition to your holiday menu or party.

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 (750 ml) bottle of red wine – 2 cups apple cider – 1/4 cup Triple Sec or Brandy – 1 orange, sliced – 6 whole allspice berries – 2 cinnamon sticks – 2 star anise – 2-4 tbsp sweetener (honey, sugar or maple syrup)

Instructions:

Step 1

In a slow cooker, add wine, apple cider and sliced orange. Place spices into a cheesecloth or directly to the pot. Cook on low for 1 hour.

Do Not BOIL!

Remove spices and set slow cooker to warm. Stir in sweetener (honey, sugar or maple syrup) and Triple Sec or Brandy.

Serve warm and with your favorite garnishes.  Enjoy and drink responsibly!
