Honey Bun  Cake

Honey Bun Cake is a moist cake with cinnamon and sugar swirls plus a delicious vanilla glaze. This tried-and-true recipe tastes like a honey bun in cake form!


– 1 box yellow cake mix – 4 eggs – 1 cup sour cream – 3/4 cup vegetable or canola oil – 1 cup brown sugar – 2 tsp. ground cinnamon – 2 cups powdered sugar – 3-5 tbsp milk – 2 tsp vanilla – 1 tbsp honey, optional

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9x13" baking dish with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, sour cream, oil until well incorporated.

Step 3:

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon with a fork or whisk.

Step 4:

Add half of the cake batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.

Sprinkle all of the brown sugar, cinnamon mix on top of batter.

Place the rest of the cake batter on top of cinnamon mix, as evenly as possible. Try a spatula or your fingers. Bake 40-45 minutes or until cake is golden brown and toothpick in center comes out clean.

Mix glaze ingredients until smooth.

Pour glaze onto hot cake and spread over the top evenly. Slice and enjoy!
