Looking for a delicious and impressive dessert? Try a Black Forest Poke Cake! Made with chocolate cake, cherry pie filling, hot fudge, and topped with whipped cream plus chocolate shavings, this dessert is perfect for any occasion.
– 1 box chocolate cake mix – Ingredients listed on the box cake (water, oil, eggs) – 1 jar hot fudge sauce (11-13 oz) – 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz) – 8 oz whipping topping (Cool Whip) – 1 chocolate bar for shavings
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13" baking dish with nonstick spray. Prepare boxed cake mix, according to box instructions.
Once cake is done, allow it to cool 5-10 minutes. While cake is still warm, using a fork, wooden skewer or the end of a wooden spoon, slowly poke holes all over your cake.
Microwave the jar of hot fudge, 30 seconds at a time, until it is thinned out and can be poured. Then, slowly pour the hot fudge over the cake evenly, hitting all of the holes.
Spread cherry pie filling on top of the hot fudge.
Cover cake and allow it to cool in refrigerator at least one hour. After an hour, spread whipped topping over top of the cherries.
Chop or grate chocolate bar over the top of the whipping topping. Keep refrigerated.
