Easy Christmas Crack

Easy Christmas Crack is salty, sweet, and crunchy.  This year, put Christmas Crack Toffee on your must make list.  You can create this saltine cracker candy, also known as Christmas Crack, in 15 minutes.


– 1 sleeve saltine crackers sleeve, 35-42 crackers – 1 cup brown sugar – 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter – 1 tsp vanilla extract – 1/2 tsp salt – 12 oz chocolate chips – Toppings: M&M’s, sprinkles, nuts, heath bits

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a half sheet pan (18×13″) or jelly roll pan (15×10″) with parchment paper or aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray.

Step 2

Line crackers side by side on the pan.

Step 3

In a saucepan, combine brown sugar  and butter.

Step 4

Boil over medium heat  for 3 minutes  or until bubbly.  Remove from burner,  stir in salt,  and vanilla extract.

Step 5

Pour evenly over  the crackers, spreading as needed with a knife,  spatula or back of a spoon.

Step 6

Bake in preheated oven  for 5 minutes  or until just bubbly..

Step 7

Remove from oven  and sprinkle  chocolate chips on top  of the hot crackers.

Step 8

Let stand 3-5 minutes, then spread over  the crackers  using the back of  a spoon.

Step 9

Sprinkle with desired toppings.  Allow to cool or place  in refrigerator or  freezer to cool.  Break off pieces or  place on cutting board  and slice with a sharp knife.  Eat and enjoy!
