I'll be honest about this candy. When I first heard about it, I thought it just sounded weird. Who is going to put toffee and chocolate on top of saltine crackers and enjoy it? Well, raise your hand if you like it, because my hand will be raised too! We were very surprised by how good this actually is and you cannot eat just one. Kids will love to eat it and decorate it! FAQs

What is Christmas Crack?

Christmas Crack is a popular holiday treat that combines the sweet and salty flavors of toffee, chocolate, and crackers. It's named "crack" because it's incredibly addictive and hard to stop eating once you start.

Can I use different types of crackers?

Yes, you can use other types of crackers like graham crackers or Ritz crackers for a slightly different flavor and texture.

What do I do if my toffee separates or crystallizes?

To prevent toffee from separating or crystallizing:
Ensure you're using fresh butter and brown sugar.
Stir the mixture constantly while bringing it to a boil.
Let it boil undisturbed once it starts bubbling, and avoid stirring during the boiling stage.
If it separates, you can try whisking it vigorously to bring it back together, but it’s best to start over if it doesn’t recombine smoothly.

Top Tips

  • Mix up the chocolate chips for the top by using dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate or even peanut butter chips.
  • Add different toppings: nuts, M&M's, sprinkles for different holidays, pretzels, crushed peppermint, marshmallows, Heath bits, peanut butter cups or even Oreos. I added a few different toppings to mine to show some ideas.
  • Allow the Christmas Crack to cool completely before breaking it into pieces. You can speed up the process by placing it in the refrigerator.
  • Store Christmas Crack in an airtight container at room temperature. Layer it between sheets of parchment paper to prevent sticking. It will last up to a week in your refrigerator.
