FAQs

What is Apple Cider Donut Cake?

Apple Cider Donut Cake is a moist and flavorful cake inspired by the popular fall treat, apple cider donuts. It's made with apple cider, warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and typically coated with a cinnamon-sugar mixture or topped with a glaze.

Can I freeze Apple Cider Donut Cake?

Yes, you can freeze this cake. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil, and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Can I add other spices or ingredients?

Absolutely! You can enhance the flavor by adding: ½ teaspoon ground ginger or allspice to the batter. Chopped apples or nuts could be added for added texture.

Top Tips

  • Make sure you use 100% apple cider and not apple juice or apple cider vinegar, as the juice will not provide the same depth of flavor.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cinnamon to your personal preference. If you're a spice lover, don't be shy and add a little extra to your batter for a bolder flavor experience.
  • Every oven is different, so keep an eye on your cake as it bakes. If you notice it browning too quickly, you can cover it with foil to prevent over-browning while the center continues to cook.
  •  Keep it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. If you want to extend its shelf life, you can refrigerate it for up to a week. But let's be honest, this cake probably won't last that long!
