Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
In a saucepan, bring butter, Coca-Cola, and cocoa powder to a gentle boil.
Pour the hot mixture over the flour and sugar; stir until combined.
Mix in buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla.
Fold in marshmallows if using.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Make the Frosting
About 10 minutes before the cake is done, heat butter, cocoa, and Coca-Cola in a saucepan until melted.
Remove from heat. Beat (or whisk) in vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth.
Stir in pecans if desired.
Pour the warm frosting over the warm cake and spread evenly. Let cool before serving. Cut and enjoy!
