Made-from-scratch, soft and chewy, Red Velvet Brownies with a simple Cream Cheese Frosting will never let you down. These delicious brownies are simple to make and a beautiful red color for any day or holiday!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×13″ baking pan with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, melt butter (or melt in a small bowl and add to a large mixing bowl). Add brown sugar and granulated sugar, whisking until well combined.
Combine eggs until smooth.
Mix in vanilla extract and 1 ounce of red food coloring.
Stir dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Combine just until no dry flour streaks.
Spread into your prepared baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center is clean. Do not overbake. Cool.
Cream Cheese Frosting
Once brownies are completely cooled, start preparing the cream cheese frosting. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add powdered sugar a little at a time until well incorporated and the desired consistency.
Spread onto the cool brownies. Slice and enjoy!
