FAQs

What are Banana Muffins with Crumb Topping?

Banana muffins with crumb topping are delicious baked goods made with ripe bananas and topped with a buttery, sweet crumble. The crumb topping adds a crunchy texture and extra flavor to the moist banana muffins.

Can I freeze Banana Muffins with Crumb Topping?

Yes, you can freeze these muffins. Wrap each muffin individually in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. To thaw, leave them at room temperature or warm them in the microwave for a few seconds.

Can I use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour?

Yes, you can substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour, either partially or completely. Using whole wheat flour will give the muffins a denser texture and a nuttier flavor. You may need to add a bit more liquid to the batter if it becomes too thick.

Can I make mini Banana Muffins with Crumb Topping?

Yes, you can make mini banana muffins by using a mini muffin tin. Reduce the baking time to 10-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Top Tips

  • Overripe bananas with brown spots or streaks are perfect for muffins. They will give you the sweet flavor needed.
  • Walnuts are optional, add if you love them, but it is not required to get a delicious banana muffin.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter or the muffins may become too dense.
Do you need to ripen the bananas faster? Place them in a brown paper bag and close it tightly for 2-3 days.
  • If you are making mini muffins, bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
  • When the muffins come out of the oven, cool 5-10 minutes in the pan, then remove them. Don't wait too long or the bottoms may become soggy.
  • To store, place in an airtight container up to 4-5 days.
