FAQs

What is a Crescent Breakfast Casserole?

A Crescent Breakfast Casserole is a savory breakfast dish made with layers of crescent roll dough, eggs, cheese, and various breakfast ingredients such as sausage, bacon, or vegetables. It's baked in the oven until golden and bubbly, making it a perfect dish for brunch or a hearty breakfast.

Can I make Crescent Breakfast Casserole ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the casserole the night before, cover it with plastic wrap or foil, and refrigerate it. When ready to bake, remove it from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before baking.

Can I freeze Crescent Breakfast Casserole?

Yes, you can freeze the baked casserole. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven before serving.

Can I add vegetables to the casserole?

Yes, you can add vegetables such as bell peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms, or tomatoes. Just make sure to dice them and cook any watery vegetables (like mushrooms or spinach) to prevent excess moisture in the casserole.

Top Tips

  • Any type of breakfast meat (ham, sausage, bacon, turkey sausage, chicken sausage, turkey bacon) can be used with the recipe or no meat at all.
  • Add in any other veggies you would like, such as peppers, mushrooms, spinach, etc.
  • Use your favorite cheese-cheddar, mozzarella, swiss, colby, monterey jack, pepper jack, etc.
  • If preferred, you can use a crescent dough sheet instead of the crescent rolls.
  • I am adding parsley to the egg mixture, which goes to the top of the quiche. You can also top it with tomatoes or green onions.
  • If the top is browning too quickly, cover the dish with aluminum foil while it continues to bake.
  • Store in an airtight container, in the refrigerator, for up to 4 days.
