Berry Trifle
Berry Trifle is a beautiful dessert made with layers of angel food cake, creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, and fresh berries. It's light, refreshing, and always a crowd favorite for holidays, potlucks, cookouts, baby showers, and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 3 cups strawberries, thinly sliced
- 1-2 cups blackberries
- 1-2 cups raspberries
- 1-2 cups blueberries
- 1 baked angel food cake, cut into 1" cubes
- 16 oz. whipped topping
- 2 3.4 oz boxes instant vanilla pudding
- 3 cups milk
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Wash berries and set on a paper towel to dry. Cut strawberries into bite sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes to thicken.
- This cheesecake layer is optional. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- In a large trifle dish or clear glass bowl, add a layer of cake cubes.
- Spread a layer of the cheesecake filling over the cake, if using.
- Spread a layer of pudding over the cake cubes or cheesecake filling (if you are including that).
- Next, layer on whipped cream and berries.
- Repeat layers. Top with whipped topping and decorate with fresh berries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
