This Black Forest Poke Cake has an exquisite chocolate-cherry combination that is a hit with everyone. Rich chocolate cake with hot fudge, fluffy whipped cream, cherry pie filling and chocolate shavings on top.
Ingredients listed on the box cake (water, oil, eggs)
1jarhot fudge sauce (11-13 oz)
1cancherry pie filling (21 oz)
8ozwhipping topping (Cool Whip)
1chocolate bar for shavings
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 13″ baking dish with nonstick spray. Prepare boxed cake mix, according to box instructions.
Once cake is done, allow it to cool 5-10 minutes. While cake is still warm, using a fork, wooden skewer or the end of a wooden spoon, slowly poke holes all over your cake.
Microwave the jar of hot fudge, 30 seconds at a time, until it is thinned out and can be poured. Then, slowly pour the hot fudge over the cake evenly, covering all of the holes.
Spread cherry pie filling on top of the hot fudge.
Cover cake and allow it to cool in refrigerator at least one hour. After an hour, spread whipped topping over top of the cherries.
Chop or grate chocolate bar over the top of the whipping topping. Keep refrigerated.
