peaches or 2 15 oz cans (plus ½ cup of juice, reserved)
½ cup
(1 stick)
unsalted butter
1
cup
all purpose flour
1
cup
granulated sugar
2
teaspoon
baking powder
¼
teaspoon
salt
¾
cup
milk
ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slice butter into a 9 x 13″ baking dish and place into oven while it is preheating, to melt the butter.
In a large bowl, whisk all purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt.
Stir or whisk in the milk until you no longer see dry flour, but do not overmix.
Remove pan from oven with butter melted. Pour batter into an even layer over the butter. Gently smooth batter into an even layer but DO NOT STIR.
Spoon peaches over the top of the batter, along with ½ cup of peach juice from the can. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
Bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream, if desired.
