I have such fond memories of my mom and dad making peach cobbler while I was growing up. This is a great recipe for fresh, frozen or canned fruit. I had trouble finding fresh peaches in my area. I am using canned because you can buy those year round, making it much easier for everyone. You never know when the craving for peach cobbler will strike in the middle of winter.

We would love to hear from you in the comments and ratings below!

FAQs

What is Peach Cobbler?

Peach cobbler is a classic dessert that features a rich, juicy filling made from fresh or canned peaches, topped with a biscuit-like or cake-like crust. It is baked until the topping is golden and the peach filling is bubbling.

Can I make Peach Cobbler ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the peach filling and topping separately ahead of time. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Assemble and bake the cobbler just before serving for the best texture.

Can I freeze Peach Cobbler?

Yes, you can freeze peach cobbler. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat before serving.

Top Tips

  • When adding each layer to the baking dish, DO NOT STIR. It's what makes the cobbler turn out perfectly. Stirring everything will not provide the same outcome.
  • You may choose to use frozen peaches, but make sure to defrost them and drain the juices before adding them to the recipe.
  • If you want the top to be crispy, broil the top for a few minutes. Keep an eye on it, so it doesn't burn.
  • Store the cobbler once cooled by covering it tightly and placing in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
