FAQs

What are Birthday Cake Cookies?

Birthday Cake Cookies are soft and chewy cookies that capture the fun and festive flavors of a classic birthday cake. They are typically flavored with vanilla extract and sprinkles for a colorful and celebratory treat.

Can I customize Birthday Cake Cookies?

Yes, you can customize Birthday Cake Cookies by using different types of sprinkles or adding mix-ins like mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts for added texture and flavor. You can also experiment with different extracts to vary the flavor, such as almond extract or lemon extract.

Can I add frosting or icing to Birthday Cake Cookies?

Yes, you can add frosting or icing to Birthday Cake Cookies for extra sweetness and decoration. Once the cookies have cooled completely, you can drizzle them with a simple powdered sugar glaze or frost them with buttercream frosting. Sprinkle additional sprinkles on top for a festive touch.

Top Tips

  • Cream the butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar for 3 minutes. Creaming the butter and sugar, get you little air pockets from the sugar cutting. This step make the cookies bake tall and not spread as much. This will also make them more thick and chewy.
  • Change the colors of the sprinkles to match the occasion: red and green for Christmas, red/pink/purple for Valentine's Day, your favorite team colors, etc.
  • To store, place in an airtight container up to 5 days. Add a slice of bread to the cookie container to increase the shelf life. Replace the bread as needed (it will get stale as it helps keep your cookies fresh).
  • Baked cookies can be be frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Set them on the counter to thaw and allow them to come to room temperature. This can take from 30 to 60 minutes.
