Salted Chocolate Chip Caramel Cookies are a soft cookie with tons of chocolate and chewy caramel in each bite, then topped by a sprinkle of salt.

This is a delightfully soft cookie from our experimenting in the kitchen. With this recipe, you get the classic salted chocolate paired with caramel. I had a few bags of the Kraft Caramel Bits and really wanted to try cookies with them. The caramels were not as melty as I was hoping for, more like chewy bits, but they are still delicious. Give them a try!

Ingredients for Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
- all-purpose flour
- baking soda
- salt
- unsalted butter
- granulated sugar
- brown sugar
- vanilla extract
- chocolate chips
- caramel bits
- extra salt for top
Top Tips
- Store the cookies in an airtight container (and include a slice of bread to keep them fresh).
- Set out butter and eggs about an hour before baking to allow them time to come to room temperature.
- The caramel bits can get a little sticky to the cookie sheet or parchment paper. When scooping try to have a little dough covering any caramel bits on the bottom and this will help remove them easier.
How to make Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or cooking spray.
- Whisk dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, salt) together in a bowl. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar, until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract and beat to combine.
- Mix in dry ingredients and beat until just combined (scrape down sides as needed).
- Stir in chocolate chips and caramel bits.
- Scoop cookie dough into tablespoons onto the cookie sheets and sprinkle a pinch of salt on top. Bake 10-12 minutes and let cool on baking sheet or cookie racks. Place extra chocolate chips on top when they are just out of the oven, if desired.
