FAQs
Chicken Alfredo Bubble Up is a delicious and easy casserole dish made with chicken, Alfredo sauce, cheese, and biscuit dough that "bubbles up" as it bakes, creating a creamy and satisfying meal.
You can prepare the dish up to the point of baking, cover it tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When ready to bake, remove from the refrigerator and bake as directed, adding a few extra minutes if needed.
It's best enjoyed fresh, but you can freeze it. Let the casserole cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bake at 350°F (175°C) until heated through.
This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad, garlic bread, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Ensure that the casserole is spread evenly in the baking dish and bake it until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through. If the top is browning too quickly, cover it with foil and continue baking until done.
Top Tips
- You can add in a veggie, such as spinach or broccoli. Toss it in with the chicken, then cook normal.
- Cut the biscuits with either a knife, pizza cutter, or kitchen scissors. I have used them all and they all worked well.
- Add ½ teaspoon garlic salt, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, or 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning for added flavor.
- Make this ahead of time. Simply assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until you are ready to bake. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. When you're ready to bake, remove the cover and follow the baking instructions as usual.
- One of the best ways to cook chicken for shredding, is in the Instant Pot. I place it in the Instant Pot, cover with 1 cup of chicken stock and any seasonings you like. Close the top and touch the Poultry setting. Once it beeps, shred the chicken with your hands, tongs, forks, anything that works for you.
