Let's talk about easy dinner recipes. In my house, everybody gets excited when I bring out the lasagna ingredients for dinner. We just love lasagna, but it is so time consuming to make during the week and this lazy lasagna casserole recipe will taste very similar. You can also experiment with this recipe and use various types of ravioli from meat, spinach, or cheese ravioli. Our favorite is the spinach mozzarella ravioli you can get at Costco.

Try some of our other favorites, such as Chicken Tetrazzini, Chicken Alfredo Bubble Up, or BBQ Chicken Bubble Up.

Can I use fresh ravioli instead of frozen?

Yes, you can use fresh ravioli. The cooking time may be slightly reduced since fresh ravioli cooks faster than frozen.

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

Yes, you can assemble the dish ahead of time, cover it tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When ready to bake, add an extra 10-15 minutes to the covered baking time to ensure it heats through.

Can I freeze lazy lasagna with ravioli?

Yes, you can freeze the assembled, unbaked dish. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap and aluminum foil and freeze for up to 3 months. To bake, thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bake as directed, adding extra time as needed.

This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad, garlic bread, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Top Tips

  • You can use frozen ravioli right out of the package, no need to cook it.
  • This recipe is pretty versatile for your tastes. If you want to use meat, no meat, homemade sauce, jarred sauce, extra seasonings, different cheese. Choose for your own preferences.
  • If you want to substitute the ricotta for cottage cheese, that will also be tasty.
  • Add in some veggies, such as mushrooms, onions, zucchini.
  • If you like an extra cheesy lasagna, throw in as much or as little cheese as you prefer.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.
